Central Vacuum

Author: Administrator
What is a central vacuum?

A central vacuum is a where you have a centralised vacuuming system with outlets throughout the house to attach the hose. Basically, you have a power unit that is kept in either the basement or in some sort of cupboard. From there you have concealed ducting that goes throughout the whole house in the same way plumbing and electrical wires would. Throughout the house you would have plug in points where you can attach the hose. The benefits of this system are numerous and its use is widespread in North America and Continental Europe. A central vacuum is a far superior system than even the most advanced of vacuum cleaners that you push around the house.

What exactly are the benefits of a central vacuum?

Firstly the central vacuum is far more powerful than any other type of vacuum cleaner. They have the same sort of power as the fixed vacuums at petrol stations. For anyone who has ever used one of those they will realise the terrific suction power that they have. Also all the dust and mites are completely removed from the room which obviously helps allergies enormously. Allergies are becoming more and more prevalent in the United Kingdom so this is clearly a huge health benefit. The sound is much quieter as the power unit is in the basement or a cupboard rather than right next to you. It only needs emptying two or three times a year and you don't have to lug a big heavy vacuum around all the time.

Where can you buy a central vacuum?

There are a few places that sell the central vacuum in the UK, but there is one that stands out in particular. As the sole distributor of the hugely efficient Variovac which is made in Germany, Central Vacuum Solutions are the obvious place to go. They have a terrific website at where you can find everything you need to know about them.
